‘Get Your Haircut Damnit!’

Thomas Sena grew up with the smell of hairspray and perms. His father, Ray Sena owned several salons for over 40 years as well as a beauty school. Thomas’ first salon job was emptying ashtrays in his dad’s salons when he was about four-years-old. Thank God for, No Smoking. He eventually attended Capitol Beauty School in Omaha. He was a platform artist and educator on the Nebraska Hair Fashion Committee for the NCA and also for Standard Beauty Supply and Paul Brown. He served on the national advisory board for TSA (The Salon Association) Symposium in 2005. He created “Thomas Sena The Salon” in 1997 and in 1999 opened T’eez Salon.

In 2003 he combined them both into one salon called T’eez – A Thomas Sena Salon in One Pacific Place in Omaha.  T’eez became one of the “200 Fastest Growing Salons” in the country, named by Salon Today and Modern Salon magazines.   He created T’eez Hair Products and launched the line in 2007.  In 2009 T’eez was purchased by investors and moved the salon to northwest Omaha, Ne. where Thomas stayed on as general manager until 2014.

Thomas had the honor of being the cover story in Salon Today in 2003 as a “Trailblazer” in the industry and then again on Salon Today’s cover in 2012 as a “Tech Titan.”  Thomas was also awarded the Midlands Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” business leaders.

In 2014 continuing his work with technology and marketing to better serve and reach clients and educate staff Thomas accepted a position with the Garbo’s Salon and Spa chain in Omaha, NE as Digital Director of Marketing and business consultant.

Next Thomas became the General Manager of salons for Beauty First of Nebraska  Thomas oversaw salon operations for this seven location Salon and Retail chain.  Duties included general strategy, social media, marketing, hiring and training.

In 2016 Thomas returned to Garbos Salons and Spas as Director of Technology and Communication working for CEO Darcy Michalek.  As a member of the Executive Team for Garbos Salons and Spas, Thomas’ duties include brand strategy, acquisition and implementation of technology, social media, digital marketing, website, E-commerce, education curriculum, training, cloud and salon OS for all locations. Thomas also continues to work as a hairstylist at the Garbos Regency location.
